7 May 2022 - Arrival in Póvoa de Varzim

I departed St. Louis, Missouri on the morning of Friday, 6 February, to fly to Porto, Portugal. My parents, meanwhile, were flying there from their home in south Florida. The travel day was relatively uneventful… I arrived in Boston mid-afternoon, had a leisurely layover, and then boarded an overnight flight to Madrid. That’s where it got a little more exciting–I only left myself a little over an hour in Madrid before my flight to Porto, not realizing that I had to go through EU customs in Madrid! It worked out… though I’m pretty sure I ran from security to the gate in my socks, and then discovered that there were plenty of other people who still had to get there as well!
