Someone suggested to look at "Smithereen" - I thought they were making a coy reference to the social media site in a Black Mirror episode, but turns out that is also the name of a promising Fediverse platform that is being developed. It takes its layout from early versions of VKontakte & Facebook, with a clean look, a wall, groups, friends list, long posts, & threaded comments. Might make for a decent alternative to Friendica & Diaspora.

@TotalSonic They are extending the ActivityPub protocol with a lot of non-standard features... It would be good to get some of the #activityub devs working with them to implement these as part of the standard.
