The average woman’s career trajectory. The alligator is people asking you to fix harassment.
@irene <Alligator> "Why are you running away. I just want to have a rational discussion"
@mcc it’s really hurtful how everyone runs away from me. That’s why I lash out. With my claws and teeth. But don’t be scared!
@irene @mcc There needs to be a sea lion in there with the alligator!

@irene

Women: Please remove the land mines, so it’s a more reasonable ‘race’.

Men: Don’t be difficult and unreasonable, the process of removing land mines is a complicated and very costly process. We do not have fund to allocate for such an exercise. You should think about the shareholders and clients and adjust. 🙃

‘Landmines’ aka harassment, toxic behaviour and ‘favours’

@irene - I've been there.
Trump’s Misogyny Won’t Just Harm Women

Donald Trump will return to Washington flanked by an entourage intent on imposing its archaic vision of gender politics on the nation.

The Atlantic
@irene fr. What would you say is the biggest hurdle for women right now? And for context what would you say is the biggest hurdle for everyone?
I can't help noticing that the picture is of a white man and a black woman. A white (cis) woman would be on a track between those two. I mention this because some years ago I read a comment on twitter to the effect that white women benefit from rights secured by non-white women but not the reverse, and it really cemented my view that white women need to be vocally anti-racism first and then anti-misogyny.
