Why not download your own 'Chasing the Moon' chart to track our lunar satellite across the sky over the next week? The Moon will appear close to Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, so make sure you look out for those too, as well as star clusters and the constellation Orion. ⤵️
In 5 hours, at 18h UT on 9 February, the Moon will pass close to the red planet Mars (mag. −0.8). The event will be visible worldwide in the evening sky. However, from parts of Russia, China, Canada & Greenland the Moon will actually pass in front of Mars.🔭 Details: https://in-the-sky.org/news.php?id=20250209_16_100
And facing farther to the left: Mars (upper left), Jupiter (upper right) and at the bottom Sirius with Orion inbetween / Jupiter (left) and Venus (right) - the latter image required a super-wide angle shot. Sorry, no planet 'parade' now either. All pics are handheld cellphone snapshots.
