Yet, I can build an OS userland and kernel with less than 2GB.

@mWare Building Firefox is definitely better. I don't think I've ever had a system use swap when building Firefox.

@lattera Similarly I (many years ago) tried to compile Chromium for Android, (just to get a modified WebView component). I gave up when it ran out of memory on a 128GB machine
