We have many people, cities and states doing their best to block the ICE round ups, some state governors and AGs suing (successfully even) to stop his actions. But on the tariff thing trump is (stupidly, disingenuously, and recklessly) acting within his authority.
@osma @RandomCanuck @w7voa My hope is that this hurts enough of the gop donor class to get the legislators they own in his party to join the democrats in passing laws to limit his authority over tariffs. But there’s no guarantee our SCOTUS won’t reject that even if it does happen.
@osma @RandomCanuck @w7voa We have no mechanism to call for new elections before 2026. We have mechanisms to remove him from office but those won’t be used because the gop controls them. If the republic collapses then so does any constitutional authority that legitimates him but that will not actually improve your situation, quite the opposite.

If Canada and Mexico were smart, they'd conspire on tariffs to crash American economies as quickly as possible. Targeting trump supporters in Congress if possible.
