I double checked this, and was able to verify. All previously public links to content on #PrEP on the #CDC website no longer work. Perhaps there are new URLs? But at the moment, this seems to be the case. Apparently effective #HIV prevention is too #woke.
@philjreese given what Grindr said about the Republic party Congress being their Black Friday, I can only see this backfiring....
@philjreese this is some thatcheresque “let the gays die quietly” shit…
@jgobble @philjreese Yeah. They have removed huge swathes of information, and I've been asked to stop updating our staff about it (I work at an HIV non-profit) because everyone is stressed beyond belief.
@genecowan @jgobble @philjreese Hit up the Internet Archive’s Wayback machine, and post the most recent copy of the missing data on your organization’s website.
@JustinDerrick @jgobble @philjreese 👍 We are collecting info for our archives. We also generate content for the CDC so like many, many orgs we’re wondering how this will shake out. There is an understanding among some that pages are being edited and will be back. Just what will be edited is another question. *I don’t speak for my employer, of course.
@genecowan @JustinDerrick @philjreese You don't speak for your employer, but you DO have a best friend who is very very adept at archive.org scraping and can and will get the info to put back online!
@philjreese they are systematically destroying any government funded public health efforts. we can only conclude that they want people sick and they want mass death.

@philjreese

Yes of course HIV prevention is too woke. They *love* untreated HIV spreading through marginalized communities. They called it "gay cancer" when AIDS first showed up, ffs.

@philjreese

It’s so odd they chose to remove *this* in an apparent gay-bashing moment when according to UNAIDS, in 2023 “53% of all people living with HIV were women and girls”.

One more stereotype trotted out…

@philjreese perhaps worth checking internet archive and sharing on links?
