Today I spent my lunchtime hacking open disposable vapes that my friend litter picked at the park.

They are really not made to be opened up. My pile of tools expanded as time went on. ELUX vapes particularly can get to fuck.

I thought there might be some 18650s in there but they're much smaller than that. The biggest ones are 1500 mAh which should be useful. I've bought a capacity tester so that's the next job.

Also need to 3D print some little cases for them!

WLED burn down test! Online calculator reckons 6 hours (1500 mAh capacity with ~200 mAh load) so I'm hoping for 4-5 hours.
Stopped the test at 3.5 hours as I've realised the batteries don't have any BMS on them so I could potentially over discharge them. The battery was still at 3.8v though so it's looking good! BMS boards ordered 😅
3D printed this cute little case that fits the battery in and a button! Just need to decide where I want the wires to come out now. My vision is that it might be attached to an LED necklace?
