Longtime twitter user trying this side of things out.

I'm an avid Home Assistant tinkerer and love any project involving LEDs.

One 3D printed part later, fixed!!
I don't like to throw things away if they're fixable and Adam likes to do a job properly (whereas for DIY I will very much compromise between effort and output). Anyway this is why we ended up bench grinding my laundry basket legs
3D printed this cute little case that fits the battery in and a button! Just need to decide where I want the wires to come out now. My vision is that it might be attached to an LED necklace?
Stopped the test at 3.5 hours as I've realised the batteries don't have any BMS on them so I could potentially over discharge them. The battery was still at 3.8v though so it's looking good! BMS boards ordered πŸ˜…
WLED burn down test! Online calculator reckons 6 hours (1500 mAh capacity with ~200 mAh load) so I'm hoping for 4-5 hours.
Also @wonkatron said he was surprised the house wasn't on fire. Ffs.

I thought there might be some 18650s in there but they're much smaller than that. The biggest ones are 1500 mAh which should be useful. I've bought a capacity tester so that's the next job.

Also need to 3D print some little cases for them!

Today I spent my lunchtime hacking open disposable vapes that my friend litter picked at the park.

They are really not made to be opened up. My pile of tools expanded as time went on. ELUX vapes particularly can get to fuck.

Well this notification I set up the other day has already earned its return on (time) investment πŸ™„
