In April-May I'll be in #Portland OR. This will be my third visit since 2021. I know the city reasonably well for a non-Oregonian. I know the highlights and my favorite places (including I'm in camp Blue Star > Voodoo).

I'll be there for two weeks, and I'll visit within the city and outside #PDX (yes, I can fill the two weeks, especially with day trips). What are some lesser known things you would recommend to a return visitor?

My interests are (local) history, art, wandering neighborhoods, natural water, non-desert nature. I love seeing places and objects connected with history. I won't rent a car.

I know I'll be at Washington Park, Mt Hood, Forest Park, the historical society museum, the art museum, Multnomah Falls. I may look around for sites associated with Beverly Cleary. I may take in a game, perhaps Sea Dogs, Timbers, or Thorns.

While I know I can fill the two weeks, I really want to take in some new things I may have missed.

And hopefully someday Flock Food Hall will open.

@learninglifer Flock opens on Sunday! 🙌
@cabel Thanks! That's a miracle 😀
@learninglifer No kidding. I suppose i shouldn’t say anything until I actually walk inside 😂
@cabel I get that. I'll be staying nearby, so assuming it's (still) open, I'll try it out while there.

@learninglifer go to a Thorns game if you can.

I recommend checking out the notated geological core sample at the Washington park MAX stop on your way to or from the arboretum and other things up top.

@learninglifer Doe Donuts might overthrow Bluestar for you like they did for me! Plus they’re somehow vegan.
@learninglifer Ummmm... Sea Dogs are in the Maine version of Portland.
@PizzaDemon Ah, you're right. I was thinking of Hillsboro Hops, but had to look it up at the time and could only find Sea Dogs when searching Portland baseball.

Portland's baseball team is the Portland Pickles.

@learninglifer The Portland Art Dealers Association is a good resource for finding art galleries. https://padaoregon.org/ Most of them will be in the Peril District but there are also some great ones on NE Alberta Street.

I love the Oregon Historical Museum. It's across from the Museum of Art. For nature, while it might be a bit cold for it, one of my favorites is Oneonta Falls. I also love Kelly Point Park and Sauvie's Island. DC Veg on SE 50th and Division has the best vegan sandwiches in town.
