Last day to put in submissions on proposed Regulatory Standards Bill, closing at 11.59pm on 13 Jan, i.e. tonight! Best to email them.

My submission answers Qs, opposes the RS Bill, and refers to good Legislation Design. I mention the Open Government NZ programme and that RS proposal is inadequate to fix any issues.

@Kay great work, thank you for sharing! This bit is so important: "Too many laws have secrecy clauses and deny civil society and journalism oversight through Official Information releases or disclosures." I wish I'd thought to include that in mine, thank you for putting it in yours 💜

I particularly enjoyed these bits of the conclusion:
