Realistically, however, I'm over on BlueSky more. There's definitely pros and cons, but, I find the bsky federation and data model a lot more appealing overall.
@Mspin Do you want to talk a bit more about that? Folks here have been debating bsky a bit and I'm trying to get a sense from people who use both.
@aphyr Yeah, the big one for me is tying my identity to a server that is (likely) run by someone else. Case in point, I'm going to lose a bunch of history when I turn down restraint.social.

@aphyr I'll do the domain TXT record thing first. Then I have the option to host wherever.
Running the PDS seems really straightforward though.
@aphyr Architecturally, I like the separation of UI from data.
bsky is weak on privacy, so that's a concern. Seems like a solvable problem though.
