A few weeks ago, I shared a long Toot on Mastodon about the FediVerse, mainly about Pixelfed. Zuckerberg was making changes to his platforms, making the orange Emperor to be happier. Welcoming hate speech, adding AI content to make more money... It's used to be about connecting to people, now it's damn the people, welcome money! Over two years ago, just before Twitter would go to the shitter, I discovered the FediVerse.

Great article. It amazes and amuses me how people are afraid of something "new". Beamship has been live for over a year. People keep sharing links to the corporations here and I keep putting them in the filters because I'm done with the MEGA/CORPORATE controlled systems.

At MPAQ, we have our own chat/socal/entertainment/email systems. ALL hosted in a bedroom somewhere in the world. Hell, Beamship is running on a laptop. The radio station is a Raspberry PI and a bunch of systems is a common every day desktop computer. All channeled through a VPN.

It doesn't take a lot of smarts but convincing the people on the corporate systems is practically impossible and very sad. They plan a protest for example, in Fakebook Massager then wonder why Kops show up and declare it illegal BEFORE protesters show up.

@bob yeah I know! I struggle as well to learn new things! So I do understand. But often it's really worth to learn the new things...
I wish I had the wits, knowledge, and all to host my own little Pixy corner! I'd love to have my own space where I can host my Fedi bits and a blog.
But I'd be clueless to run it, to set it up, and to maintain it.
It's something I've just started a blog post on as well. 😉
