Safer in the dark

While I write this, we just experienced the longest of the darkness, the solstice, and slowly but surely, the nights are getting shorter again. And, this may not come as a surprise, I am saddened by it. Many people dread the darker days, they long for the sunny, long days. And, while I can enjoy the sun, especially it's warmth, I struggle more with it as well.

It's been quite a week. We started with the weirdest weather, going from snow to 12°C within 12 hours time. I had PT, tried to be a bit more responsible towards my health, went to Germany with mum on a Saturday, and then my PC died on Sunday. Some ups and downs this week...

A big mess 🤯

The topics from the last few weeks have not been the happiest ones. And I am bummed about that. I'm sad that things have been so gloomy, painful, and hard. I wanna write about good things, positive things, joyful ones. Because that also means that I am doing better as well. I could still write about good times, but they're short lived, overshadowed by the pain, the worries, the darkness in my mind.

Living economically

I just wrote a long Toot (it's been a "few" days ago though when this post goes live 😉), which started with me looking for prescription sunglasses and ended with me being bummed that everything gets to be so expensive these days. And I was sad, again, that I can't work anymore... I'd love to have the healthier body again, and that would also mean I'd be able to earn more income...

A few weeks ago, I shared a long Toot on Mastodon about the FediVerse, mainly about Pixelfed. Zuckerberg was making changes to his platforms, making the orange Emperor to be happier. Welcoming hate speech, adding AI content to make more money... It's used to be about connecting to people, now it's damn the people, welcome money! Over two years ago, just before Twitter would go to the shitter, I discovered the FediVerse.

When it just hurts too much…

I've been dealing with pain my whole life. I was a clumsy kid that always had this or that. Later we learned this was partially due to me having hypermobility. I didn't break much, but there were many sprains and some dislocations and all that. I became a "hip patient" at the end of 1996, with my first surgery in 1997.
