Three months later, I finally got my HRT officially renewed. But the OB-GYN has wiped her hands of me and said refills should be done through my family doctor. This sucks, because my family doctor doesn't think I should be on HRT. They were the ones who put me on antidepressants for menopause instead of HRT, and the antidepressants seriously ruined my life for a year or more. I was having terrible reactions to them.

I hate how menopausal people are treated as a psychiatric afterthought.

@Shanmonster there was a new study released in May 2024 changing HRT advice for women under 60. It is now recommended as the benefits have been found to outweigh the risks. Would your Dr be open to this? Mine looked into it when I told her and gave me a prescription.

@urbanfoxe my doctor was all "HRT gives you cancer and you shouldn't be on it." Very frustrating and outdated.

@Shanmonster Maybe unsollicited advice, but I've seen your posts about struggling to get HRT because doctors sucks a few time now, and I wonder if you're ever thought about DIYing your HRT ?
It's a good option for trans people to reclaim our bodily autonomy when doctors take it away, it can also help for menopausal HRT or other HRT

@biyokea I recently discovered a menopause clinic in the area which also deals with testosterone replacement, so hoping it won't come to that. I'm crossing my fingers.
