Time to warm up the super I took off several months ago and spin out the honey #bees
@JeniParsons I didn't take any honey off mine this year. They didn't produce that much honey, but they never starved either, unlike a lot of colonies around here, so they clearly did better than most. I've left them one full super each for winter. I got enough left from last year anyway. :)
@SaraRassner mine did ok but I’ve left supers on each and only taken one this year despite having three hives

@JeniParsons I often leave one super on each anyway, but this year I made sure all the frames were full of capped honey.

Three's a nice, managable number! :) I meant to combine mine before autumn, but didn't get the chance to.

I've got one nuc that I'm a bit worried about as I don't have any supers for that particular nuc box model, but otherwise they all seemed fine going into winter. Who knows what it will look like in spring with the constantly changing weather we are having now though!

@SaraRassner I guess you could wedge some fondant in the side chamber in the nuc if it’s like mine. Last year’s weather is why mine have several supers on as I never got the chance early on to sort them. Hoping for a better start this year

@JeniParsons Yeah, there's a little plywood frame feeder in that nuc that I'll try to shove some fondant into.

Fingers crossed for a tidy start to the year! :D
