#NewJersey is actually purple, but the decades-long dominance of the #Democrats in the #NJleg has masked this fact. It is going to take effort and transparency to keep the Assembly and governor’s office blue this fall. Those of us on the ground understand this — but it’s hard to tell if the PTB in NJ Dem leadership do.

There are like SIX Dems running in the primary. I actually saw Steve Fulop and Ras Baraka at town halls in Collingswood in December. I’ve gotten a billion mailers from Sean Spiller. Gottheimer and Sherrill are congresspeople who I’ve not met. Then there’s SJ’s own Steve Sweeney.
@PamelaBarroway So Gottheimer was my Congressman before I was redistricted to NJ7 and then moved into NJ03.
He has no personality and as far as I can tell - having met him at a new town halls, if he has any believes, he doesn't want to say them outloud. If you talked to him without knowing his party, I'm not sure you'd be able to guess his party.
I suspect him and Manchin would get along.
@alpha1beta Agree 💯 with both of your toots re Gottheimer, Fulop and Sherrill. I will say that I liked Fulop and Baraka as well from the town halls.
Now Sweeney is another matter entirely. If he won the primary I would of course vote for him bc I’m not an idiot — but he’s a been a cog in the SJ Dem machine and buddy of Norcross from waaaay back. 😑
