I would like to clarify tho: technically, not actually SLAM. Covering the sensors resets the position to 0,0,0 so it seems to be strictly odometry, which is kind of a bummer.
@ShinyQuagsire it’s SLAM if it builds a map, doesn’t need to reloc or loop close to be SLAM. Though it’d be a bit pointless, other than maybe to trade compute vs memory for landmark detection.
@the_accidental yeah that's why I'm so flip-floppy about whether it's SLAM or not, the company they licensed it from is pretty specifically angled at building world geometry, so it's hard to tell for sure really
