When electronic waste (e-waste) ends up in the trash, it doesn’t just disappear—it ruins water supplies, harms wildlife, and causes fires. Do you have electronics that aren’t repairable, or old batteries that need to be disposed of? Look for an electronics recycler near you.

We've got a whole page about how to recycle end-of-life electronics & help you find a recycler wherever you are:

How to Recycle End-of-Life Electronics

Repair is better than recycling—but even repair makes electronic waste. Recycle it.

You should also point out that many metal salvage yards will buy electronic circuit boards by the pound. You won't get rich, but the stuff will get recycled.
@iFixit “wherever you are”, New Zealand doesn’t exist again 😅 we aren’t part of Australia so the linking to them and hiding us under there 🫠

@alexs We do have a section for New Zealand! Is this not what you're looking for?

@iFixit just felt like hidden under the Australia link at the top (wasn't one for us).

Also, to offset my slight snark about us being under Australia...

You could maybe add we have nation wide battery recycling which is done through Bunnings - this isn't widely known from talking to people about where to do it (too many throw in the rubbish!) - https://www.bunnings.co.nz/diy-advice/home-improvement/sustainability-recycling/where-and-how-to-recycle-batteries

@iFixit oh, missed it was a Wiki - I'll add that myself later if you folks don't have the time to :)
@iFixit arg, its all smashed up, I want the chiclette caps, and the inductors, and that transistor... arg.
@iFixit and that ferrite stick antenna...
