We found an overly cautious approach to the enforcement of data protection law. This prioritises government and corporate preferences over the need for personal security.

We need strong data protection laws and a strong regulator who will act as the first line of defence for the British public.

In particular, the ability to refuse to submit sensitive data in the first place. The option not to tell the migration control where you've been, the option not to give the bank a biometric picture of your face, the option not to give landlord your payslip, the option to not let the bus operator take a picture of your passport with a mobile app
