#day24 Favorite costumes of 2024

Though I dropped this drama, the most beautiful costumes of the year are featured on Queen Of Tears.

Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior... They must have spent a stellar budget on costumes!

My favourite costumes that I saw in 2024 were absolutely in #EmpressKi where I'm told that the costumes were more than half the budget. They were utterly amazing, so colourful and so sparkly! The wardrobe crew must have busy nonstop on that set.
I also loved the costumes in #MyDemon, including Song Kang's fluffy clavicle-bearing sweaters and her sword-dance hanboks.
H/T to hand-knit sweaters in many shows like Virtuous Business.

@EllenInEdmonton definitely! We talked about My Demon costumes last year already so I didn't want to repeat myself.
I loved the costumes in Empress Ki as well, they were truly magnificent ❤️

Time flows together for me these days so I thought I watched #MyDemon this year. Clearly, the costumes made an impression. I also loved his suits with sashes that totally suited his flamboyant personality and his career in the arts.

@EllenInEdmonton I think the last episode of My Demon was in January 2024, so it's in between years.
But we extensively discussed the #kdrama and the costumes too during last year's calendar 😉
@s1m0n4
That doesn't mean they aren't great enough to keep discussing!
Honestly, I enjoy this challenge but I don't like the emphasis that it seems to place on things having been released during this calendar year. I think when something is excellent, it deserves notice from one year to the next. I've done a reading challenge for many years and the books are always from multiple years.

@EllenInEdmonton @s1m0n4  I agree, but it is also reflective of the overall nature of Drama fandoms in general, I feel. When Dramas released 3-4 years ago are apologetically prefixed with "older", it's understandable that an EOY challenge assumes everyone has the attention span of goldfish

To be fair, 3-4 years represents a MUCH bigger percentage of their time alive for many 'typical' Drama fans than it does for us 👴

Haha, yes. I chat in one forum where there are often underage fans asking for recommendations. As a pretty new drama fan, I generally prefer contemporary shows but I'm also curious about classics from earlier years.
The newer shows usually have huge budgets for areas like lighting, sound, locations, and OST. All of those certainly enhance the viewing experience!
@EllenInEdmonton @s1m0n4 and few of those elements matter to me - which might explain my overall preference for #JDrama which are often noted for their apparent indifference to most of them. 😀
