Why yes, spooky YT algorithm, thanks for suggesting this, I DO miss Gakki. But as much as I LOVE this #JDrama and this awesome dance, I'd be REALLY impressed if you recommended anything from my favourite #JDrama of hers

Drama Recs Challenge Day 7
This was an easy one. Not only does this great #JDrama feature a strong ensemble cast, the entire plot and point of the show is their characters ARE an ensemble, a string Quartet. No #KDrama or #CDrama I've watched is as literal a fit for this #DramaRecsChallenge . That it was my first introduction to the multi-talented ( and gorgeous) Mitsushima Hikari was a nice bonus

Day 4: A Powerful Performance
#Jdrama Shōgun (2024), actress Anna Sawai, for her powerful portrayal of Lady Toda Mariko. Strong, graceful, defiant, loyal, brave. Anna Sawai won the Best Actress Emmy 2024 and Golden Globe 2025, and so well deserved. The scenes at Osaka Castle are so powerful and memorable, Mariko facing questioning by the council, and when she and her group defiantly try to leave. Shōgun also won the Best Drama Emmy 2024 & Golden Globe 2025.
@AnnaAnthro I wouldn't recommend. SSH was in Dr Jin, an AWFUL #KDrama remake of a #JDrama, and in that one he was comprehensively out-acted by a pickled brain in a jar. That one was made a year AFTER this one, and it's my recollection that in this poor Ms Kim would have been served by having a green screen as her romantic interest.
Curiously enough, I've gone on to like him in a few, her, not so much.

Drama Recs Challenge Day 1
The challenge pic for the #DramaRecCchallenge does not specify #KDrama so many of my recs will be #JDrama, #TWDrama or #CDrama
It was REALLY tough to pick Day 1, but In the end I went with a KDrama anyway. #FatedToLoveYou has enough of the common elements of #KDrama to be a good intro,. Critically it has an uncomplicated happy ending, after a gut-punchingly emotional couple of eps toward the end.
I can't quite remember why I clicked on this one. I probably wanted something different to watch during software release time. Finished it this morning, and while it wasn't a strong romance it was good. The idea that love is antithetical to success at studying and the turn around on that feels like a social commentary I don't have the knowledge to fully appreciate. But the gist of it got through, and it was a very cute first love story. Unusual format. It was quite enjoyable.
@girlbandgeek
That's my name for the trope, I don't know what others call it, but it has creeped me out right from the start of my #KDrama watching 12 years ago. Happily, it's MUCH less common in #CDrama, #JDrama and #TWDrama
I dumped Cha-Cha-Cha because of the omniscient, omnipotent ML. Sadly THAT trope is also very common in #CDrama, especially.
