WanderingHuman 🇨🇦A hospital #dementia ward has to be one of the most depressing places on earth. And not one that should be understaffed! These poor frail seniors try to get out of bed without any supervision and end up falling. My uncle died from head injuries after a fall in a hospital. I'm worried my dad will be next. 😞

In my experience #FallsFromBed is an area in which #Nursing fails.
On reporting yet another fall ftom bed* I realised that the nurses had been trained, as part of the #FallsPreventionProgram, to respond immediately with "Not all falls can be prevented".
The #Ethics of this training are IMO corrupted. Initiating general training about falls when a specific fall is being reported functions as an attempted #MindFuck.
* 5 total? One fall changed things from "rehab" to "transition".
