The only reason Trump and Musk want a 2 year removal of the debt ceiling is to finance the trillions in tax breaks for the wealthiest they plan. They will not use additional spending power for pediatric cancer centers or anything else for the public good.
@heidilifeldman Debt ceilings are for Democrats only, evidently.
@mattblaze @heidilifeldman it's bonkers to see a president who isn't even in office yet wielding power more effectively (though not for things I like) than the current administration has for four years.

@heidilifeldman

Maybe THIS is the moment the non-political public realizes that the Republicans never mean a single word of their moral panic over debt and deficit.

Or, you know, not. Still.

@heidilifeldman LOL...really? After all these years the GOP is going to take the barrier down :p

Liars. All of them :p

@heidilifeldman The party of small government strikes again!
@heidilifeldman I'm not sure it finances the tax breaks, but instead allows the trillions to be added to the debt without any discussion or vote. Do I have that right?

@heidilifeldman

The only reason billionaires fund Republican campaigns is to be rewarded with taxpayer dollars, lucrative no-bid contracts, and subsidies.

They run up the national debt every time they're in charge.

On average of $1.4 billion gets added to the national debt by each 4 year GOP administration.

Trump is used to being in debt to hostile foreign governments
