Mini vMac for iOS won’t be coming to #AltStorePAL, it was just #RejectedByAppReview for notarization after an initial rejection and appeal.
@maczydeco @stroughtonsmith Am I reading this right? Apple considers devices running iOS to not be Apple-branded computers?
I’m pretty sure they have previously explicitly marketed iPads as “computers” or “PC replacements.” And I’m pretty sure they’re Apple-branded.
I’m guessing their awkwardly worded reasoning is down to the exact wording used in their macOS EULAs…
@pmdj I don’t know what the exact wording on the System 6 or 7 EULA was, the installers I’ve found online don’t have any EULA, and my physical copies are at my mum’s place in another country. I do recall there being a tear-to-accept sticker and agreement with the original floppies 🤔
@maczydeco The only reason I suspect it’s something to do with EULAs is that they haven’t come out and said “we get to decide what runs MacOS, and iOS devices are not included” but instead used this bizarre phrasing. At any rate it seems written by lawyers.
@pmdj @maczydeco Ugh. If Apple is looking for a new "Pro" app after they do whatever it is they plan to do to Pixelmator they can buy this app. I'd pay Apple $99 for a Mac emulator for the iPad. That could cover the cost of a license to MacOS. I can't think of a more Pro app than one that makes the iPad a serious computer.
OK, I know this will never happen but thanks for letting me whine and stomp my feet for a bit. 😀
@robnee @pmdj @maczydeco I would pay Apple for a mini vmac version that supports rotation (Radius Pivot emulation) and pencil (wacom emulated). But if they don't, I would pay for this in a pinch to stop compiling it
myself 😂

I’ve started work on the next in my 1-bit Woodblocks series: “Tekagami” (Ito Shinsui’s “Hand Mirror”). So it’s a good time to talk about how I turned an iPad...
