Aotearoa's Open Government NAP4 has been a complete failure.

Today, the Public Service Commission found a few positives to highlight, but even those are pathetic.

@civillibertynz were quite unhappy with the targets which have been missed.

NZCCL predicted this failure: "After 10 years, it is clear the only effective incentive is the availability of dedicated funding."

In the absence of funding, the OGP is a waste.

@ensslen @civillibertynz Yeah :( We've nearly been thrown out of it how many times now?
@aimee @ensslen @civillibertynz None, no times. NZ has only received one letter for ‘acting contrary to process’ when it took an extra year to develop NAP4, between 2020 and 2022. But civil society called for this delay given the difficulties caused by the pandemic. And ‘acting contrary to process’ is a long way from being threatened with expulsion.
@openpolicynz Fair! I was perhaps a little OTT in my wording. I do remember a number of years ago hearing that we were being warned in the backgroung to take things more seriously...but fair, thank you :)
