Transport Minister Peewee (brmm brmm) Brown has announced three new toll roads: the Takitimu North Link, Ōtaki to north of Levin, and Penlink.

None of these mean anything to me because I live in the South Island where the government is trying hard not to invest in infrastructure.

@BobLefridge Ōtaki to north of Levin is pretty much a captive audience, with extremely limited alternatives for anyone heading north from Wellington.

I foresee damage and accidents as people try to avoid it

@BobLefridge Well, I live in the North Island and none of them mean much to me either. It's almost like they're trying not to use the obvious names because then we might figure out what they're talking about.
