OK, testers needed. Thanks to @[email protected] reminding me to do so, and the fact that I want to show it to Jake, I brought my AudioQuake server back online. Yes, it's time for an old throwback.
Fancy having a go? Download from http://3.onj.me/programs/AudioQuake20241208.zip
Had so much fun playing against real players yesterday and not bots. Even introduced Jake to Quake as well. His first comment:
'40 FPS?' Yep, he's definitely of his time 😂
Still, it was fun and I hope this resurrected server will be fun for many going forward.
Didn't realise how much I missed playing, and how easy it was to get back into it. All the keys came back just like that.
@FreakyFwoof I remember about 4 or 5 years ago we played a lot on your server with my friend. We had no local servers around, all we knew was yours, and now that you wrote about it, the whole thing brought me so many good old memories back :)
@Destranis @FelixSteindorff Well please bring your friends back into the game. I want to make this a serious revival. It's such a fun thing.
@Destranis @FelixSteindorff It was running on much slower bandwidth back then.
@FreakyFwoof @Destranis is there again a stats page to look up the frags_
@FelixSteindorff @Destranis No, I don't remember how I set that up back in the day to be honest, and until it really kicks off (if it even does) I don't want to bother necessarily.
