Had so much fun playing against real players yesterday and not bots. Even introduced Jake to Quake as well. His first comment:
'40 FPS?' Yep, he's definitely of his time 😂
Still, it was fun and I hope this resurrected server will be fun for many going forward.
Didn't realise how much I missed playing, and how easy it was to get back into it. All the keys came back just like that.

@FreakyFwoof That was part of my beef with it, after a while the bots just wouldn't move around or respaun in some cases so you were wandering around an empty map looking for something to kick the shit out of.

@FreakyFwoof I remember about 4 or 5 years ago we played a lot on your server with my friend. We had no local servers around, all we knew was yours, and now that you wrote about it, the whole thing brought me so many good old memories back :)

@JamminJerry Aah, well weapons are all of the number row, plus a few extras listed in the readme, control to shoot, arrows to turn, but you don't turn by holding. It snaps to different compass directions which you can find out by pressing C.

@FreakyFwoof I didn't get into a game. I heard music though, and it said it was connected, but using the arrow keyd didn't seem to do anything for me. I think I kept hearing something like end of line reached, or something like that, but I know it did say connected, and it did say it downloaded a wave file.

@FreakyFwoof I forgot to push the button on my mixer, so that you could hear me go into the folder and such, so there will be a bit of nothing at the beginning, but you will hear it reading part of the menu, and what I press, and then what happens after that. I believe I am still connected. as I don't know how to quit it.

@FreakyFwoof nope, and nopel. space, and numbers seem to type into some sort of edit thing. arrow keys do what you were hearing it say no more history, or things like that.

@FelixSteindorff The server hasn't been up since 2021, so most of us haven't. I'm so glad to have it back, honestly.
