I'm a bit sad that last.fm isn't more popular. To preempt, yes, it's still a centralized commercial company, but at least it's agnostic about where you listen to music. Instead, most people have their listening habits locked within specific streaming platforms like Spotify or YouTube Music, and rely on them to make that information available to them once a year...
@Gargron this is really sad. It has become very difficult to scrobble how it used to work in the days.
@tsueri @Gargron I tend to disagree!! You can get a browser extension that'll scrobble YouTube, soundcloud, Bandcamp, etc. Spotify (at least for now...) still lets you log in, and the majority of local music players I've used have a plugin that scrobble for you. It's just that people stopped using last.fm proper for... Some reason? I think having easy playlist sharing made it so the focus kind of wasn't about the conversation/curation and more about the ease of consumption

@wexx @Gargron I've been using iTunes for al long time. It just worked with last.fm. If I remember correctly, it even synced my scrobbles form my iPhone, when synced with iTunes. This is not working anymore.

Sorry, for the late reply.

@tsueri @Gargron ah weird, must've been something with the iTunes -> Apple music move 😭
