I'm a bit sad that last.fm isn't more popular. To preempt, yes, it's still a centralized commercial company, but at least it's agnostic about where you listen to music. Instead, most people have their listening habits locked within specific streaming platforms like Spotify or YouTube Music, and rely on them to make that information available to them once a year...
@Gargron I agree. I have all my scrobbles since 2008. Lack of scrobbling support is the reason I haven’t given Apple Music a try, it’s a dealbreaker for me.
@eljojo Lots of scrobblers have Apple Music support
@RiSK from the official apple music app? like, with apple watch support and all the bells and whistles that come with apple music? — AFAIK Apple has no API that allows to scrobble as seamless as Spotify does.
@RiSK @eljojo The Marvis.app does
@martinv @RiSK while that's true, the Marvis.app does not seem capable of removing songs from your library. I'm skeptic of the idea that 3rd parties can provide a better "Apple Music" experience than Apple itself.
@eljojo @Gargron there are very effective apps on iOS and macOS now that scrobble Apple Music. I use Sleeve on macOS, and Marvis on iOS
