I was in Tesco and there were posters up, printed by Tesco, expressly asking people to buy toys in the shop and donate them there for kids in need at Christmas.

I just thought, “We could cut out the middleman here and you could just do that, Tesco. You get the toys cheaper anyway. Because this just feels like you’re profiting from children’s poverty.”

@Nickiquote @SiegeFeathers Yep, and while contrary to myth there’s no tax advantage here they will absolutely advertise “£100k of toys donated through Tesco” later in a way that sounds like Tesco paid.
