I can cycle again! Wohoo!

It seems like the heart is working better again, I can modulate the heart rate with the power output. And it seems that I have more control over my heart beat than a few months ago, thanks to that COVID-induced myocarditis (https://amble.blog/articles/21eac844-b3b4-4112-8e58-66a17aad4b72). Crossing fingers that my appointment at the cardiologist on Tuesday will confirm this.

I could not be happier about my first …

Long COVID

I am pretty diligent at wearing a mask indoors, got my initial vaccines as soon as I could (refreshed those websites all day every day to book a rare opening), and I kept up with yearly boosters. Heck, I barely went to indoor places at all, no sitting inside restaurants or coffee shops, the colder months were boring, sometimes lonely. Four years and eight months, that's how long I managed to avoid the virus, like the plague it is. On the last day of August, a Saturday night, I felt a light pain when swallowing. I was travelling the latter half of August, first on a long bicycle protest ride through the country, this year I could only join for the first five days. But I was effectively outdoors at all times for this time.
