I don't understand the need of some parents to create an Instagram or a Facebook account (or worse, both) for their babies. Are they not aware of the potential dangers from online predators? What about privacy? Is this only in the Philippines? I have so many questions. 😣

@luthien1126 I had created one for my son. To upload his sketches/drawings (which were amazing if I may say so myself)

My son did **not** have access to the phone. **I** used to operate both my and his account, to keep his sketches separate (With the intent when he grows up, I'll handover the password to him)

But somewhere down the line **when instagram introduced the age check, I lost the access to that account.** (So now safe but sad)

@mvaze Ah, if it's to share kids' creative outputs without necessarily compromising their safety and privacy, then that's completely fine. I'd be happy to see your son's drawings, actually.

But I know people who create socmed accounts for their babies—babies who can barely crawl!—and happily upload baby photos. It's quite alarming.

Unfortunately that account is now inaccessible :(
At least they could have made it read-only (no new uploads, just view already uploaded pictures)

@mvaze Awww. I hope your son is still creating wonderful drawings. 😊

@luthien1126 Yes, he does. Less so (more studies as he grows)
Only this time for "our eyes only"

Though I'm considering uploading his sketches to pixelfed
