Would be great to announce source code, too. I happened to notice and updated pkgsrc a few days ago. I know most users use binaries but I think it is important for Free Software to be source forward.

@gdt the releases happen on time - there's a calendar of the roadmap (https://qgis.org/schedule.ics). I used to announce the releases, but as that often triggered questions when the binaries would be ready - which varies a bit - I stopped that at some point.
