I'm not sure if this one has more of a "light in the darkness" vibe than the previous one, or maybe it's more of a sloppy layer cake vibe. Anyway it's still dark and gloomy in Oulu, especially since all the snow melted. :/

Blaze on Grey II

In 2017 I started a series of large-scale paintings of fire, which I am continuing in tapestry as well as a painting series. The investigation of natural forces and phenomena inspires me to further develop my technique and aesthetic.Acrylic paint on ...

@kaminenmosher Beautiful painting. Oh I can understand the pain of November/December darkness, here in Poland snow also melted and it is now dark, gloomy, rainy, cold and windy :/ And foggy. Today i need lights on for the entire day, it is so dark.
@DragonNika Thank you! Yeah, it's the needing the lights on all the time when awake that is demoralising.
@kaminenmosher True, I feel like I can sleep all day with that weather :/ At least Finland has decent snow during actual winter - am I right? I really hope for some snow here in December, otherwise it will be dark, dark and muddy.
@DragonNika We're supposed to have snow since the end of October, like last year, but climate change has hit us with a warm spell - there was snow and it's melted. :/
@kaminenmosher That really sucks :/ Snow and frost makes winter nice, and air is so crispy when temperature is below 0 C. Especially that Oulu is pretty far North if I am correct, not Lapland far North but still.
@DragonNika The sweet spot is between -5 and -10°C, with snow. If only it stays around there... We're less than 200km south from the arctic circle.
@kaminenmosher Oh yes, -5 to -10 C and snow is great, and if there is sunlight...perfect winter.
