@jennzycos@ashten shaun released a video in part about this sentiment just a couple days ago. it goes into why its not enough for reactionaries to have their "non-woke" representation, but instead require the total absence of diversity and why once such diversity is present, to them even what should represent the kinds of charscters they want suddenly is tainted and bad. the presence of the "other" inherently forces them to make the choice to be represented a certain way. having to make the choice means their identity and status is not an unspoken default assumption. and it not being a default assumption makes them feel insecure, like they are being attacked, invalidated. they arent used to not being the main - and only - target audience and are screaming as loud as they can about this real, but entirely morally correct loss of their privilege.
this is why their inability to relate justifies being against the existence to them.
(i couldve replied this to ashten directly, but i felt your reply made a nicer jumping-off point; sorry for rambling and have a great day)
