– every fedi reply guy when someone notes that the protocol or the server software or the UI is confusing or missing something
Ask yourself why a community like Vue took an enormous effort to write Elk and later organizes a (hugely successful) eXodus to Bsky (within days)
(fedi reply guy: “i don't care, good riddance, sellouts, class traitors” etc)
This long thread on Mastodon and Bluesky is on fire. 🔥🔥🔥
Don't agree with everything there but there are many good observations and thoughts.

Read it backwards up (thread by OP is hidden otherwise 🤡):
Yup, I’m calling it. bsky will prevail where Mastodon failed. The recent migration triggered the critical mass of Chaos Muppet Energy that Masto’s culture works so hard to extinguish Like a climactic moment in a Zelda game where the accumulation of artifacts and switches pulled channels mystical energy. I will see you over there!
@molily Fedi will continue to accumulate folks who appreciate the value every time whatever VC platform they were previously using crosses their threshold of unusability.
And those of us already here will continue efforts to relegate the HOA old-fedi retirement community folks here to irrelevance and welcome new folks to use it however meets their needs.
@molily But TBF Fedi also isn't heavily financed and doesn't have a huge team behind it.
I find the critiques of current Fediverse culture and infrastructure valid, and I think all Fedi projects should in some ways try to learn from each other and change.
I just want to signal to the outside view that those learnings require a huge amount of people power and money.
@molily Some of it feels like Linux vs. macOS. Everyone has areas of their lives, where they pick “purity” (Linux), others where they pick “convenience” (macOS).
(I’m saying that as someone whose main operating system is still macOS.)
