@doc Yes, but I also remember that they contained fucking massive capacitors that could vaporise you if handled incorrectly.
@evilokapi That, and they effectively pointed an electron gun at people's head, with only some phosphors and glass in between.
I they were easy to repair, though some models were easier than others. Philips in particular had models with the PCBs on hinges and wiring in trunks along them, so you could hinge them out for better access. Those things were wild from a serviceability POV.
