Mini vMac for iOS won’t be coming to #AltStorePAL, it was just #RejectedByAppReview for notarization after an initial rejection and appeal.
@maczydeco the DMA doesn’t permit Apple to use the notarization process in this way; I hope you raise this to the EU! Apple’s been taking the DMA affordance letting them review for security and they are abusing the shit out of it and turning it into a de facto App Store review. That practice needs to stop.
@harpaa01 @maczydeco Agree 100%. And now everyone should realize why notarization was introduced in the first place. OF COURSE, it never had anything to do with security. 🤣 But people these days believe everything if they’re told often enough. Like “give me your phone number TO SECURE your account”. 😂 Ppl happily providing their number and wondering why they get scam calls, scam messages etc. But they still insist, this would increase overall security. @iBleedIn6Colors and the Mac has had notarization for years and it's a good feature and relatively uncontroversial because it’s a straightforward automated scan of your app binary.

Apple's attitude toward DMA compliance is just so resentful.

@harpaa01 After all, its only purpose comes to light which is establishing an app review process for so called side loading. OF COURSE it’s automated on the Mac. Why would Apple invest money here for in person reviews? What would they get from it? Nothing—as long as you’re still able to just download and run software from everywhere. As you said, it’s “uncontroversial”. This paved the way for introducing a process of that name for iOS. (1/2)
