How do people here feel about Bluesky? I am currently posting to both - largely because I am curious.

Bluesky didn't make 2 key mistakes that Mastodon makes

1. Bluesky web interface is very polished. Mastodon is still clunkly, after all those years.

2. The discovery feed in Bluesky is great - something that Mastodon has never really done, which severely hamper its attractiveness.

My sense is that at the current rate, Bluesky will be what Mastodon could have been.

Thoughts?

@marcelsalathe I am devoting time on both. Find many more of my professional colleagues have gone to Bluesky. Though the fact that it could be yet another takeover target does give me agita. I think the general process of finding a Mastodon instance and opening an account could have been more user friendly - this platform has so much more potential.

@ProfCharlesHaas I agree. But I think the window of opportunity may now have closed, at least for the scientific community.
