Current desktop PC crashes when under heavy load. Checked and replaced nearly everything, to no avail. Time for a rebuild; what's the current wisdom on CPU/Chipset/MB for high-perf data crunching/gaming setup?
If you're playing along at home: Went with a Ryzen 7950X and the Asus Proart X870E motherboard. 7850X over 9800X3D for more threads and better availability. Not going to overclock, but need lots of connectivity so the Proart is a good match.
Building with an AIO cooler and a battery of fans has become ridiculously easy since I last put a PC together. No more nest of tiny wires; fans, radiator, etc are daisy-chained with a single cable to a hub. A nice surprise.
