Fresh volcanic eruptions north of Grindavîk, Iceland.

- Started at 11:14 pm local (UTC), Nov 20
- 3 km long fissure location is similar to Mar 16 eruption
- A small earthquake swarm began at around 10:30 pm
- Grindavík and the Blue Lagoon evacuated
- Eruption is significantly smaller than the last eruption on Aug 22
- This is the 7th eruption this year

Eruption on Reykjanes Peninsula - RÚV.is

An eruption started at 11.14pm on Wednesday evening, in the Sundhnúks crater series. It's the seventh in the area this year. It is subsiding in power noticeably.

@AkaSci from what I've read and listened to, they had figured it would be late Dec or even Jan before the next eruption.

Apparently they've learned to 'read' the power plant bore hole pressures coupled with seismic data to predict imminent eruptions - lead times of a couple hours to evac places needed.
