I’ve not tried gajim. Not sure if I want to bring yet another app into the mix to add to the complexity, confuse my correspondents, & frustrate the tech illiterates with more bugs. They are already at the edge of their tolerance. In principle I prefer Profanity (TUI) but Profanity loses the history. So I have to keep dino around because it reliably keeps the history by saving a decrypted local copy of everything.

@unplugged @debacle I think Profanity supports history, but I'm not sure which combination of `/history` `/logging` or `/mam` is needed...

But you need to do it after connect your account, I don't know if it's possible to do it automatically but my workaround is doing like that

@codeDude @uexo @debacle I’ll have to take a look but I think I recall that the debian stable version is too far behind for that.

(edit) I see the option is available in my version now so I'll give it a go. Thanks!
