Getting shouted at, abused, laughed at and for what? Not a single mind was changed and the public discourse shifted not one iota. What a waste of time. Leave them to their hellsites.

Seems there's gonna be some significant legal showdowns in the coming years and a decent Mastodon instance might be the best place to avoid this potential disaster.

Pointing out you're on the right Fedi server for that, but you're talking about a balancing act that pretty much all moderators on this network have to deal with. Too much moderation and ideas can't be openly discussed, but too little and it's difficult to even have a conversation, and keep in mind, not all ideas are really worth discussing: people can come on trying to talk about flat Earth or whatever, but if it starts to interrupt conversation about actual science, that's counterproductive.
