Mara RobertsAs an engineer, I find it extremely reassuring that on the gurney in the theatre prep room my surgeon asked me to confirm various details, including which side was being operated on, then they got a marker and drew an arrow on me pointing to the spot. This is the design detail that I want to see.
Ed@s_palm for my hip replacement the doc marked the spot by autographing the butt cheek to be worked on when he came by in the prep room. 😂
Also had numerous people asking me to confirm what I was there for and which side, pretty much right up until they gassed me. It IS very reassuring.
@EdCates Can't count the number of people that now know my full name and date of birth. In 2019 I had back surgery. In the prep room the surgeon confirmed the side, then wrote it on the sole of that foot so it would be clear when I was lying on my belly.
