Tomáš SlĂĹľ@hd People never learn from the past. Bsky is a younger version of Twitter, backed by investors, and they will push monetization sooner or later. As I said, people are blind.
@tomas We'll see, I'm hoping for multiple independent, billionaire-proof, dev-friendly platforms for building social networks. Bluesky's success only strengthens Mastodon, and vice versa. Competition is good, there is plenty of room for both to prosper.
@hd I generally agree. However, I don’t think that Mastodon is strengthened by Bluesky; I see a significant exodus of people toward the latter. My Mastodon timeline now feels more like a graveyard and a list of new blog post announcements. Maybe that’s a result of the people I follow, or perhaps it’s a common trend. Time will tell.
