Trump’s team skips FBI background checks for some Cabinet picks

President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team is bypassing traditional FBI background checks for at least some of his Cabinet picks while using private companies to conduct vetting of potential candidates for administration jobs, people close to the transition planning say.

@GottaLaff Yes, we certainly don't want any embarrassing information turned up in his cabinet picks. 🙄

@GottaLaff

Most of the background checks are provided by USIS, unless my info is outdated. I see no reason why they aren't timely, and yes, the whole point is 'embarrassing info'!!! Of course, there are complications. Years ago, Carlysle Group (and Glenn Youngkin) took the company private. I never saw that impugn its integrity, but things change.

let me put an edit on that. I saw Youngkin's finger in stiffing the line employees of the company in the purchase process, but it was not an 'operational' issue.

@GottaLaff I've gone through a six-month long government background check.

Afraid of something? 🤔

@GottaLaff finding embarrassing info and criminal background is the whole point of FBI background checks.
@GottaLaff We are going to hear a LOT about efficiency over the next while. That is code for fascism. The belief is that an advantage of dictatorships is efficiency of decision making. But that ignores the arbitrariness and quality of those decisions. Doing low quality things fast is actually the worst approach. Way worse than even mediocre things slowly. Because that doesn’t wreck as much stuff per unit time.

@GottaLaff

😳😱😧🥺🫨😲😮🤯🙀🚨⚠️🚨⚠️🚨⚠️

@GottaLaff Embarrassing= blackmail potential. That's *why* we do the checking.

Trump isn't skipping background checks, he's reversing them. You must be a blackmailable criminal asshole.
