@cybertailor @nixCraft haven't tried it yet, currently running NixOS, though. Should I try it? It's highly unlikely that I switch, but it might be fun.

What are Solaris' most distinguishing features?

Probably no, it is half-dead since Sun Microsystems was bought by Oracle.

As for features, everyone praises ZFS filesystem and stuff like DTrace, though they have been ported for Linux and BSDs.

And that it came installed with Sun workstations.
