#30DayMapChallenge #World Today, shifting focus away from human mobility to mosquito surveillance. This map displays mosquito reports from around the world, submitted through the citizen science project #MosquitoAlert. Since 2014, Mosquito Alert has been collecting data, primarily on Aedes albopictus (Tiger mosquitoes), which can transmit diseases like Zika, dengue, and chikungunya from human to human. Tracking their presence is essential to control the spread of these diseases.
You can also help the efforts. Mosquito Alert is like instragam for mosquitoes. You can take a picture of a mosquito, upload it to the app and it will be verified by both the computer vision machine learning model and a human expert. Get the app for iPhone ( https://itunes.apple.com/app/id890635644 ) or Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ceab.movelab.tigatrapp)
